Lydia and Xavier’s wedding in Rangiora was centred on their faith, love for each other, and the coming together of two families.
The day began at Lydia’s family home, where she got ready surrounded by her siblings and loved ones. It was calm, familiar, and full of quiet anticipation - a meaningful start before heading to the church.
Their wedding Mass was held at St Mary & St Francis de Sales Church, celebrated in Latin and rich in tradition. Surrounded by family and friends, Lydia and Xavier exchanged their vows in a setting that felt both reverent and deeply personal.
We knew we were working against the light as the day went on, and as the fog began to roll in, it softened everything even further. What could have felt limiting instead created a beautiful, moody atmosphere - something a little different, and incredibly special in its own way.
More than anything, the day felt grounded in love - not just between Lydia and Xavier, but in the way their families gathered around them, celebrating this new chapter together.
If you’re planning a wedding in North Canterbury (or anywhere in New Zealand) whether it’s a traditional church ceremony or something closer to home - I’d love to capture it for you.
